Lanka Kade
Lanka Kade is Sri Lankan for "the Sri Lankan shop and was set up in 1994, with the aim of providing an outlet for items produced by small craft enterprises in Sri Lanka. All their products are handmade by seven family based enterprises with whom Lanka Kade have long term working commitments.
These enterprises are expected to maintain a safe and pleasant working environment, with equal opportunity and good rates of pay for it's employees. Also, children are not involved in the production of any products for Lanka Kade.
Many of their products are made from rubberwood sourced from exhausted rubber plantations that are replanted every 10 - 15 years. Recycled and organic materials are also used where possible.
